Bachie Success Stories

Updated: Sep 4, 2020

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find f̶a̶m̶e̶ love.

I'll never forget your betrayal to me and all of Australia, Honey Badger. Source: Network 10.

Ask anyone what they've been up to over lockdown in Australia, and the answers are pretty much the same: going to the supermarket, having an awkward little 'stroll', ordering too much take-out...and getting into Bach.

Whilst I personally can't get into Paradise (but if you can, we have recaps, don't you worry!) the OG Bach is where it's at. Yes, it can be sexist, painful, and tedious watching people trying too hard to become influennnzzaaas to get free lip filler. But, there is a pretty high success rate, particularly in Australia as opposed to other dating shows out there. This refreshes. This gives hope. And we all need hope right now. So, before we start BachieLocky's series on Aug 12, let's take a deep dive into the rels that Bach produced that actually stuck:

Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich (The Bachelor AU Season 1, 2014)

Don't forget those sweet sweet sponsorships. Source: @mrtimrobards

The OG Bach and The Beautiful Anna were meant to be. Apparently, between shirtless wanders on the beach, OG Bach Tim kept telling producers he just wanted to take lawyer Anna on dates, and they were like 'Um, that's not how Bach works Tim, did you read the forms?' Was prob her super cool different lipsticks that did it. Who has the right to look that good with purple lips? Anyway. Starting the trend of now getting to do Myer promos at the Races, launching a fitness/wellness program and a sweet gig on Neighbours (fomo), it won't be long before we see this now married couple (Yass!) who are having a baby (double yass!) on Dancing With The Stars. Here for it.

Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski (The Bachelor AU Season 3, 2015)

Life Aim: To look this hot in an amazing wedding dress after two kids...Source: WHO

Guys, we love San and Snezana! Introducing herself as parmigiana so he could say his name (why not have both?) Sam was instantly hooked, and the nation fell in love with an Aussie bloke who picked the single mama. Also, his mum tragically passed when he was young, and now he got instantly family! Stop! I'm not crying you're crying! Fast forward to 2020 and the two are married, have had two girls to join Snez's daughter Eve, and in true Bachie tradition, pedal their 28 by Sam Wood fitness/wellness program (I think it is in the contract to do this tbh).

Georgia Love and Lee Elliott (The Bachelorette AU Season 2, 2016)

Damn the nail idea is good, wish I thought of it. Source:

The couple went from 0 to 100 pretty quickly after it was revealed that shortly after the finale aired, Georgia's mum had passed away :( Lee was there as her rock, and to symbolise this formally, he gave her one in 2019. Again, COVID hit the Italy wedding plans (must be part of the contract to either run fitness brand, appear on Aus reality show or marry in Italy, otherwise rel is deemed void) but they seem pretty happy with where they're at. Just don't change that last name, G - it's the best!

Laura Byrne and Matty 'J' Johnson (The Bachelor AU Season 3, 2017)

Like, I would wear that beanie. Source: mamamia

Yay, another success! Apparently they had the same circle of Sydneysider friends, which obviously helps cos INSTANT CHAT AND FRIENDS. But this couple has lasted the test of time, getting engaged and having a cute af baby. Plus, Matty J arguably got one of the better post-Bachie deals, working as a host on Luxury Escapes. Not sure if that now features going to his own luxury kitchen, or on hiatus. Anyway. Both run a few podcasts, some around Bach lyf (hey, milk that shit). Even though the wedding has been postponed cos, 2020 (been there, bro) these two still appear more loved up than ever.

Don't let us down Locky hun:

We need this to work. Australia is counting on you. Source: Network 10.

Like RuPaul says Locky...DON'T FUCK IT UP.
