What, like it's hard?

*Spoilers ahead*
Gosh, so this week was...a lot. I totally would have been at breaking point. All this work in a week? Think of talking about renovating a laundry with your partner. There's talking about it (six months) arguing about it (two months) actually getting off your ass and calling people (one month) how long they say it will take (four weeks) how long it actually takes and costs (double) - and that's just one room. So I feel for our Blockheads this week! I’m your resident work-from-home (WFH) judge, here to talk about what we at home all really think of the reveals so we can shame people who did 100 rooms in a week while we sat on our butts and watched tv. Yay, let's go!

Harry and Tash (1920s)
Poor old Harry. Can't seem to catch a break. This was a lot of work, and luckily they had previously favs Mitch and Mark to help them through mishaps like their bathroom. But what eventuated?

FINALLY A PENDANT!! Y'all know I've been wanting 1920s lighting every week, and finally, it came. I would have loved more stain glass personally. Down the hallway, I found the art to be very safe, but overall it is a clean, crisp entry. I agree with the judges that the hallway architecture is quite ‘dramatic’ with beautiful open windows around the staircase and I personally liked the pendant light. The skylights are beautiful. Adding storage under the stairs was super innovative, and they’ve made it easy to be organised with shelves rather than chucking all your stuff in there, slamming the door shut and running away.
Laundry
The laundry is lovely. Again, is it 20s? Nothing about it. It would fit in Luke and Jasmine’s house quite well actually. It was safe, but that said, it’s modern and lovely and I would adore my cement-floored laundry being made over in this way.

George and Sarah (1940s)
The loveable underdogs were on a high after finally getting a win last week, and providing us with some sweet car karaoke. But this week, it was back to business. How did they fare?

I am a sucker for an archway, and I just loved how they incorporated this into their space. It really is an elegant entrance to a home and makes it look old world expensive. That said,
the awkward red cheapo table with a fake plant has to go - obviously. I also don’t quite understand why there is a glass door in the middle of the hallway - can this go too?
I disagreed with the judges about the art down the hallway, I loved it, it's funky and edgy. With the stainglass door and lighting, this is the perfect combination of period and modern we have been craving the whole time. They probably could have chosen either the colour or sepia prints, but it didn't bother me that much. That said, the wood on the staircase not matching the downstairs flooring?

Powder room
I do love the continuation of pink and black in here like all their other bathroom. It's all very clean, but the wallpaper is a bit much for me and would do better in Jimmy and Tam’s. I found it overwhelming and would definitely take it down if I moved in.
Laundry
Oh, a little doggy area!! Total ploy and it 100% worked on me! Cute! (Except my dog stays with me on the couch, always!) I agree with Darren, I love the idea of a ‘mud room’ where you put shoes, jackets etc. with your laundry. In a way thought, I found myself just wishing that they had found their style from the hallway in week 1 and continued on with this throughout the home.

Dan and Jade (1930s)
You root for this couple because of all they've been through, but overall I find this house kind of mismatched, although the attic last week was brill. What tricks did they have up their sleeves on Hall Week?

Ooh, I like this a LOT. What a gorgeous nod to the 30s, finally! The chandelier and ceiling rose, cohesive art, it feels as Darren said, ‘classy’ and chic. I personally don’t like the runner, I would have preferred it to match the colour scheme, or ditch it completely. I completely disagree with Shayna that the hallway is vanilla, I found it charming and elegant. That said, the stair lighting was a bit public pool for mine, I was hoping for another eye-catching piece and I didn’t feel it. I also didn’t feel one way or another about the pampas grass imagery. It’s...fine. The wall didn’t really need anything on it.
Powder Room
I think this is a lovely powder room that goes nicely with the time period. Loved the use of a 30s style lamp, perhaps some flowers so not as ‘cold’, but overall is nice.
Laundry
Regular readers will know I’m a sucker for white and gold. It was nice and pleasant, that’s all we want in a laundry isn’t it?

Luke and Jasmine (1910s)
My new frontrunners with their gorgeous Hamptons-esque home seem to be on the right track. I personally adored last week's reveal and thought they should have scored higher. How bout this week?

Love the stain glass door! Always a sucker for it. The attention to detail in this hallway is second to none. The wall panelling, the herringbone floor tiles, the nod to the period that still ties in with their overall Hamptons-esque home. Let’s be real - it feels expensive. Luke and Jasmine can style, and it shows. We want a marble side table, not a red cushion. It feels Brahhhtin.
Powder Room
I went, ‘Ohh!’ in a good way when I saw this. Gold and white flows on with the house nicely. Whilst I normally like crazy wallpaper in Jimmy and Tam’s home, it doesn’t 100% hit the nail on the head in this house for me, but it’s still lovely as a standalone bathroom.
Laundry
Wow. I mean, weird adjective for a laundry, but you know. It’s cosy while still looking expensive. A ‘Brighton modern family home’ as Darren says, and a fancy 'drying cupboard' (I had to Google what this was, as a mere mortal I hang mine on a clothes horse in the lounge room and hope for the best).
Bonus
Storage room under the stairs, again with great shelving. These two have really nailed style, luxury with comfort, period and Brighton. Love.

Jimmy and Tam (1950s)
Come back to me, Jimmy and Tam! I have lost a bit of hope after the kitchen and upstairs reveals. Bring back the pink!!!

Yes team, back to it! Loving the entry sick! The door, the art and the chandelier yell 1950s, or Tam’s 1950s, to me. The panelling is elegant and really gives me elegant beach vibes. I disagreed with Neale about the front entry table, good place to chuck your keys and bag. Spent too long whinging over a book being there, get over it hun.
Laundry
I found myself cheering, they’re back! The panelling entering into the laundry was a gelato 1950s delight. The mint green made me smile. I was hoping for some 1950s pin-up girl art that would have made it extra fun.
Powder room
Nothing crazy, but they all had to do 100 rooms this week, so the clean lines, simplicity and cleanliness is all we need here. The mirror is a fun nod to the 1950s too.
Stairs
Shayna is correct that the window on the stairs needs a curtain, but I just loved the vertical beachy artwork next to it that really elongated the space whilst staying on theme.

Winners: Jimmy and Tam (using their bonus point).
Wrap it up:
I did feel for Luke and Jasmine who deserved to win, but hey, don't hate the player, hate the game!
